I received my travel itinerary today which has somehow made my upcoming adventure seem all the more real – what better way to celebrate than to set up a blog!?
In exactly 34 more sleeps I will depart Perth, Australia for Dhaka, Bangladesh, where I will be working as a Child Rights Advocacy Officer with SEEP (Social and Economic Enhancement Programme).
I have to admit that I am so absorbed at the moment with finishing up both my jobs, struggling to say goodbye to the youth I work with, finishing off uni assignments (2 to go!), catching up with everyone, packing up my unit, having a million and one vaccinations (ok 9) etc etc, that I haven’t had as much time as I would like to really prepare myself mentally for Bangladesh. In terms of background research, however, I am way more prepared than when I went to Uganda. In terms of other preparation (mental/emotional/etc), who knows until I get there… :)
My aim will be to keep this blog as up to date as possible – wish me luck!
